MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ appoints new property director to drive forward £1bn 'phase two' plans

MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ has appointed Chris Reay as its new property director.

In the role, Mr Reay will drive forward the delivery of MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ’s £1bn ‘phase two’ ambitions, a 10-year vision which will see MediaCity double in size, and oversee its real estate management.

Mr Reay said: “A key part of my role will be enabling future development through attracting pre lets for workspace and linking together the ecosystem on the estate.

“I am looking forward to playing my part in the continued success of MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ as a smart city and part of this will be through attracting the creative and technological innovators of the future.”

MediaCity’s development potential over the next decade will add 2.5m sq metres and will include 50,000 sq metres of business accommodation, over 4,000 sq metres of live and work units, 1,871 residential units, over 4,400 sq metres of retail and leisure space and over 1,800 car parking spaces.

Mr Reay added: “I’m delighted to be joining the MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ team at such an exciting time.

“I started my career in Salford, studying at the University of Salford, and I have admired the progress of MediaCity over the past decade, so to have the opportunity to positively influence its future throughout this next dynamic phase is a privilege.”

Mr Reay will join MediaCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ with 16 years experience in roles covering the Manchester and Salford property sector.
