Marshall Motor Group has confirmed the closure of its Grimsby Volkswagen dealership.

A spokesperson for Marshall said: “We can confirm the closure of our Marshall Volkswagen Grimsby dealership. All colleagues have been relocated to other areas of the business, where possible. We continue to represent leading brands in the Lincolnshire area.”

Volkswagen º£½ÇÊÓƵ has yet to comment on the move, despite being approached, with the abandoned dealership just metres from the port where it brings VW Group vehicles into the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The site was built as part of the £8 million Dixon Motors village in the early Noughties, allowing the retail development that is now Tesco to emerge off Victoria Street.

Marshall is also behind the BMW and Mini franchises in the town.
