Manchester has been recognised as Britain鈥檚 top hub outside London for global investment - while Liverpool has been recognised as a world leader for connectivity.
The FDI Intelligence European Cities and Regions of the Future 2024 report, which was published today, saw Manchester named as the 海角视频鈥檚 highest ranked 鈥渓arge city鈥 overall.
London was the overall top-ranked city and topped the list of 鈥渕ajor cities鈥, beating the likes of Amsterdam, Dublin, Warsaw and Paris.
The rankings benchmark European cities and regions and follow an analysis of 509 locations across the continent. Factors used to measure cities and regions included the amount of hi-tech manufacturers, the number of jobs created by inward FDI, the number of days taken to start a business, and ease of doing business.
Manchester was in the top ten in several of the large city categories. It was ranked fifth for 鈥渂usiness friendliness鈥, seventh for 鈥渆conomic potential鈥, and ninth for connectivity.
In the overall Large European Cities of the Future list, Manchester ranked eighth, below Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Krak贸w, Cologne, Rotterdam and Pozna艅.
In the connectivity table for large cities, Liverpool came fourth - behind Rotterdam, Frankfurt and Hamburg, and just above Glasgow. In the 鈥渕icro-cities鈥 section of the report, Daresbury ranked fourth for connectivity.

The FDI report also includes a ranking of 海角视频 Local Enterprise Partnerships. Greater Manchester Business Board, formerly known as the LEP, was ranked second overall behind London.
