Major job creation as IT firm opens new Mailbox hub

Advanced Computer Software launches recruitment drive with 400 new roles set to come to Birmingham

Advanced has opened its new hub in The Mailbox today

One of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's largest software providers has unveiled its new flagship Midlands HQ in complex today.

Advanced Computer Software has also rebranded to Advanced as part of the move which is expected to employ 400 people eventually.

The new hub will replace the firm's existing base at Birmingham Science Park Aston.

The company, which is headquartered in Berkshire, provides a range of software and IT services to the private, public and not-for-profit sectors aimed at reducing costs, improving efficiencies and driving growth.

It is also launching a major recruitment drive which is expected to create 1,000 roles over the next 18 months, almost half of which will be based in Birmingham.

It has 2,000 staff at various locations across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and abroad and its customer base includes Virgin Trains, Harvey Nichols and Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Advanced's new office covers 45,000 sq ft of space on the third floor of the mixed-use complex which reopened in 2015 after undergoing a £50 million overhaul which included a new-look Harvey Nichols and revamped mall.

Chief executive Gordon Wilson said: "The launch of our new Birmingham office is a key milestone in our business growth strategy and the talent acquisition programme represents a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in IT.
