Liverpool hero Robbie Fowler reveals plans to build hundreds of homes in city

He's teamed up with Elatus Developments - and says the project is the first of many he hopes to lead in Liverpool

A Liverpool football legend has revealed plans for a residential scheme to be built between the city centre and Anfield - and says the project is the first of many he hopes to lead in the city.

Former Reds striker Robbie Fowler has announced a partnership with Elatus Developments for the St Anne's Gardens scheme in the Vauxhall area of the city.

Fowler, who scored 180 goals for the club and is currently manager of Australian side Brisbane Roar, said the development will contain 325 one and two-bed properties on the site bound by St Anne Street and Fox Street.

Fowler owns various properties across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ including in Liverpool, but this is his first venture into actual development and building in the city.

Work is hoped to start within 12 weeks, and the former striker said he is keen to launch further developments “over the next couple of years”.

A statement from Fowler said: “I’m delighted to announce that I have teamed up with Elatus Development Group to develop St Anne's Gardens.

“I have always had a passion for property development and to be part of a big project like this is not only great for my personal ambition but will be great for this region of Liverpool.”

According to the partnership, 50 apartments have been sold so far, and it’s hoped the development will be completed by the end of next year.
