Liverpool FC's advice for fans booked with Thomas Cook Sport over Salzburg and Leicester City matches

The European Champions sell hundreds of hospitality packages for each Anfield game

Liverpool FC has given advice to fans who have bookings with collapsed airline and tour operator Thomas Cook hoping to attend its next two home fixtures.

The Reds have released a statement asking supporters who have bought packages with the travel giant's sport branch for the upcoming matches against Salzburg and Leicester City at Anfield next week to complete a form on its website.

Liverpool are due to face Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on October 2 before playing a Premier League match against Leicester on October 5. And the club said it was a "priority" to resolve the impact on supporters attending those matches.

A statement from the European Champions said: "We continue to liaise with Thomas Cook to assess the impact on supporters who have purchased hospitality packages from them."

 

Linking fans to the , the statement continued: "We will contact all those supporters who complete the form via email to confirm the next steps.

"We would like to thank supporters for their patience and understanding during this time."

On Monday, Thomas Cook ceased trading leaving hundreds of thousands of people stranded abroad, and 9,000 people fearing for their jobs.

The travel agency chain has struggled for some time thanks to the changing holiday market and even worries about Brexit, but it was a last-minute demand for an extra £200m that finally pushed it over the edge .
