A jobs fair has been added to the City of Sunderland Business Festival.

The festival from October 4-8 will include a number of events designed to showcase Sunderland’s investment opportunities.

Now a recruitment fair on October 6 has been announced, with organisers saying it will offer opportunities to students, people thinking about a change of career and those who have been out of the job market for any length of time.

Businesses from across the region are being encouraged to sign up to take part for the Stadium of Light event, giving them the chance to fill vacancies.

Ellen Thinnesen, chair of the Sunderland Business Partnership, said: “There are lots of industries which have been struggling as a result of Covid 19 to find employees.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone working in industries such as hospitality to take part and show what they can offer to people of all ages. The recruitment fair is aimed at people of all ages and we are hoping to attract a wide range of exhibitors who want to take advantage of this great opportunity.”

Alongside the full festival programme being organised by Sunderland Business Partnership, the Bridges shopping centre in Sunderland will be running Bridges Means Business, with different activities each day designed to showcase a range of industries and job opportunities.
