Birmingham is set for a jobs boost after the Government announced plans to move more civil services roles out of London.
The city is one of 13 海角视频 locations - and the only one in the Midlands - to have been chosen for the next round of staff relocations.
No numbers have yet been put on how many posts will move to the city.
At present, around 13,300 civil service staff work in Birmingham while the wider West Midlands is home to more than 34,000 full-time equivalent roles, with 14 major Government departments having a presence here.
This includes the huge new operation on the Arena Central estate, off Broad Street in Birmingham, which opened in 2022.

3 Arena Central is home to 4,600 civil servants, including around 3,500 from HM Revenue & Customs, along with staff from the Department for Work and Pensions and Valuation Office Agency.
The Government said this latest initiative was projected to bring 拢729 million worth of economic benefit to the 13 locations by 2030.
Pat McFadden, Wolverhampton South East MP and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, said: "To deliver our 'Plan for Change', we are taking more decision-making out of Whitehall and moving it closer to communities all across the 海角视频.
"By relocating thousands of civil service roles, we will not only save taxpayers money, we will make this government one that better reflects the country it serves. We will also be making sure that government jobs support economic growth throughout the country.
"As we radically reform the state, we are going to make it much easier for talented people everywhere to join the civil service and help us rebuild Britain."
Government departments will now submit plans for how many roles they plan to move to each of the locations as part of the spending review.
Changes will be introduced so young people from across the 海角视频 are able to progress straight from school or university into the civil service and progress in their careers without ever having worked in Whitehall.
The Government said it wanted to have 50 per cent of 海角视频-based senior civil servants in regional offices by 2030.
This will be supported by a new approach to the Fast Stream graduate programme, with at least 50 per cent of placements offered outside of London.
The other 12 selected locations are Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, Darlington, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Tyneside, Sheffield and York.
