ITV has entered into a 鈥渟trategic partnership鈥 with Lifestyle Outlets, part of Peel L&P, to deliver a leisure attraction in Salford.
The media company has signed a multi-year deal to become an anchor tenant at Lowry Outlet, owned and operated by Lifestyle Outlets, where it will launch a 鈥渂ig brand immersive leisure attraction鈥.
Jason Pullen, managing director of Lifestyle Outlets said: 鈥淟ifestyle Outlets are at the forefront of creating the next generation of outlets and this exciting partnership with ITV will reinforce our position of delivering leading retail and leisure destinations with immersive leisure attractions.鈥
While ITV has not given details on the attraction itself, the media company confirmed it will add another live event and experience to their portfolio, which already includes Coronation Street The Tour, Emmerdale Village Tour and This Morning Live.
Rufus Radcliffe, ITV鈥檚 chief marketing officer, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to confirm the Lowry鈥檚 new Watergardens development in Manchester will become home to an exciting new leisure attraction, which is set to open next summer, with an ITV big brand experience at its heart.鈥
ITV鈥檚 leisure attraction, set to open in Summer 2020, will be part of a wider regeneration project at the Lowry.
The 拢26m project, named The Watergardens, will see the Lowry turned into a leisure and retail destination, which will include the opening of a new waterside dining concept in 2020.
Work has already started on the The Watergardens development after plans were given the green light in March.
The southern waterfront will offer a new 30,000 sq ft restaurant terrace, with hopes it will benefit from a new Metrolink line opening next year.
