It's hoped the first 34 units at the historic Edwardian mansion Andrew Gibson House put on the market this week by Wirral estate agent Karl Tatler will be completed by "spring or summer 2021".

The Wallasey development, which has lain derelict for a decade, has to be transformed into over 100 plush apartments with views across the Mersey to Liverpool.

The development is set to be called Gibson Park, and Rachel Jones from Karl Tatler's land and new homes department told BusinessLive: "We have been working with our client on this for over 12 months and I can quite honestly say, this is one of the most exciting developments I have ever worked on.

"The attention to detail is unapparelled, Gibson House has regained its historic grandeur and yet has a modern elegance throughout. We are so happy they have been able to save this beautiful building and give it a new lease of life."

Andrew Gibson House, which looks out over the Egremont promenade, is well known to anyone familiar with the River Mersey coastline.
