A new platform to showcase the Humber’s pioneering role in Net Zero has been launched.
The investor-focused online resource pulls together 14 initial projects, with hunger for more, to satisfy demand from those clamouring to play a part in the world-leading ambition.
Brought forward by Marketing Humber, the place marketing agency backed by businesses in the region, The Humber: An Innovation and Investment Hot Spot, is a digital asset detailing what is being developed and delivered.
Bill Walker, chair, said: “The Humber - the 海角视频’s Energy Estuary - has a critical role to play as we transition to a Net Zero future. We have the experience, the infrastructure, business assets, expertise and research and development capability required to deliver on the Prime Minister’s 10 point plan.
“We’re in pole position to capitalise on this over the coming years and indeed we are already making great progress with fantastic recent announcements in our favour in areas including carbon capture, storage and utilisation; offshore wind; building our hydrogen capabilities; freeports and more besides.”
Explaining the need for the , with a backdrop of the economic entity’s local enterprise partnership demise, he said it would help transform the region’s profile and economy, and was aimed at high-level investors, while informing and inspiring key decision-makers and influencers, including MPs, think tanks, trade bodies and strategic partners.
“Ever since the sensational success of the inaugural Waterline Summit in 2019, Marketing Humber has had international clean growth investors all asking us the same thing, could we showcase the Humber’s compelling credentials and even more importantly for them, specific investable projects, in clean growth and decarbonisation to highlight the Humber as a world-leading region ripe for major investment,” Mr Walker said.
Interest continued to an extent where an entire day was devoted to international investors when Waterline went online in 2020, with Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey addressing.

He said what had been created was a “vibrant online resource that showcases the region as an irresistible magnet for investment in innovative low carbon projects that would leave potential investors champing at the bit to visit the Humber and discover more”.
An eye-catching Humber globe introduces the , from Hessle-based Clay10 Creative, with compelling focuses on the likes of Zero Carbon Humber, Gigastack, Lagoon Hull and Living With Water highlighted.

It was launched at a breakfast briefing, with oversights from Katie Hedges of Catch, Patrick Pogue of PX Group and Finbarr Dowling of Siemens Mobility, following NP11 leader Roger Marsh OBE's introduction.
Praising the platform, he said: “Think of the industrial historic might of the North and we put the great in Great Britain, and we will do it again.
“We ask for fairness when it comes to the exciting, investable projects that we have, fairness in attracting public and private sector funding.
“We should ride the digital and green waves and get the advantage of all the export of the green economy which is estimated to be worth to this country £170 billion a year by 2030 - wouldn’t it be great if we could capture most of that.

“The North is an energy powerhouse with capabilities and assets, strengths to really catapult the country forward and achieve our carbon neutral position by 2050.
“We should also recognise it should be better connected regionally, into our cities and digitally.
“The Humber is key to unlocking our climate ambitions and the North has all the green credentials to deliver a 50 per cent reduction in 海角视频 carbon levels by 2032, creating at least 100,000 new jobs and potentially adding £2 billion to the economy. The Humber industrial decarbonisation roadmap is developing this multi-million pound programme. CCUS and low carbon hydrogen has the potential again to deliver tens of thousands of really good and high value jobs by 2030, particularly in some of the countriy's industrial heartlands, importantly in the Humber and the North East.
"I am delighted that last week the Chancellor rightly thought that the 海角视频 Infrastucutre Investment Bank should be located in the North. It is helpful to see that the clustering aspects of the North, and I do believe as a community we have changed our mindset to one of healthy compeition and meaningful collaboration towards national benefit, which will stand us in good stead.
"All is made possible by dedication, commitment and foresightedness by a number of people and I’d like to think the body of people the NP11 - the body of LEPs across the north - is playing its part in achieving a combined ambition which is a net contributing North to national wealth rather than otherwise.
