A popular Devon family attraction has invested 拢570,000 in their theme park and resort to improve visitor experience and facilities.

Crealy Theme Park and Resort, near Exeter, has invested the large sum of money to completely revamping the picnic area, erecting a permanent Big Top arena and creating a toilet facility for people with additional needs.

They have also invested in seven new lodges for their resort, Crealy Meadows.

Crealy鈥檚 general manager Josh Haywood said: 鈥淓very year we look for new ways to improve on our offering at Crealy and this requires consistent investment in the park and resort. We always listen to visitor feedback and act on it because we want people to have the best experience that Crealy can offer and to return to the park.鈥

Crealy has spent 拢20,000 on new flooring at their popular Splash Zone and 拢5,000 on a 20 metre by 10 metre canopy to provide shade for children enjoying the wet play area. They have also installed a new ice cream kiosk and seating next to the Splash Zone.

A new changing room and toilet facility for people with additional needs has been created in the main toilet area, complete with an electric bed costing 拢10,000. The picnic area has been given an 拢80,000 revamp and the temporary, 750 seater Big Top arena is being given a 拢30,000 cash injection to make it into a permanent structure.

Crealy has been granted planning permission under delegated powers by East Devon District Council to turn the marquee into a permanent, all weather structure on the park grounds from June 1 2019 until February 28 2024. The Big Top, which will host key seasonal shows and events, will have concrete flooring, purpose built toilets, new seating, and a dedicated retail area.

Mr Haywood added: 鈥淲e are committed to improving the park and to creating a quality experience for all of our visitors. Hopefully, the fact that footfall is up by 26,000 visitors year on year, is proof that our visitors appreciate our response to their feedback and continue to enjoy everything the park has to offer.鈥

Crealy have also invested 拢420,000 in seven new lodges for Crealy Meadows, as well as announcing the investment of an additional 拢500,000 in the theme park during 2020; details of which will be revealed early next year.
