HS2 launches latest jobs drive for next cohort to work on high-speed rail project

Forty roles are up for grabs in fields such as engineering and procurement on the huge infrastructure project

An employment programme offering graduates and apprentices a chance to work on high-speed rail project HS2 has opened for its 2023 intake.

Forty jobs are available in this year's cohort including in engineering to work on delivering the stations, tunnels and viaducts along the route.

There are also roles in the environment, hybrid bill, project management, procurement and commercial teams and all will commence in September on a two-year placement.

The first phase of HS2 is currently under construction between London and Birmingham while preliminary work has started on later phases connecting Birmingham with Crewe, Manchester and the East Midlands.

HS2 said it had set itself a year-on-year commitment to invest in young talent by welcoming a fresh round of graduates and apprentices every autumn.

Almost 30,000 people are now part of the workforce helping to deliver HS2 which creates opportunities for graduates to work alongside and learn from experienced industry professionals.

HS2 is an employer partner of which has created thousands of apprenticeships across Birmingham and Solihull since launching in 2018 as well as being a partner of our annual Greater Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards.
