How the Humber鈥檚 30,000 small businesses are gearing up for the 海角视频鈥檚 green recovery is to be analysed by regional academics to bring a valuable insight to the Energy Estuary.

A major business-to-business survey has been launched to understand how enterprises are focusing on 鈥榖uilding back better鈥 after the twin challenges of Covid-19 and Brexit.

Designed by Aura and the University of Hull, the project is being paid for by the European Regional Development Fund. It aims to get a response from more than 1,000 SMEs.

The results will feed into a significant study which will provide the region with evidence as to how businesses are addressing barriers and issues to meet Net Zero targets.

It will highlight how companies are seizing opportunities to tackle and transform the way business is done and help ensure that the 海角视频 stays at the forefront of the green industrial revolution.

KCom and authorities Hull City Council and East Riding Council are partners.

Dr David Richards, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & Enterprise at the University of Hull, said: 鈥淚 am delighted with the launch of the Future Net Zero Survey 鈥 we launched Aura some four years ago to help build and strengthen the green credential of our region 鈥 through research and innovation 鈥 and it is working.

"The advent the world鈥檚 largest wind farm just off our coast, the prospect of our ports growing and contributing to the country鈥檚 manufacturing infrastructure in renewable energy, the potential of using our long history and expertise in the power, chemical and petrochemical industries and putting that knowledge to new uses such as carbon capture to become one of the 鈥楽uper Places鈥 anticipated by the Government in their Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution launched in November last year, is an exciting prospect.

鈥淭his survey is a key part of setting out the Humber鈥檚 leading role in this vital transformation.鈥
