There are dozens and dozens of new shops, restaurants, hotels and services planned for Cornwall.
Many of these ambitious projects were launched a few years ago, and will transform our county.
In 2019, brilliant projects such as the Sowenna unit, a new primary school in Nansledan, new shops at Kingsley retail park, saw the light of day.
We look at some of huge projects which are expected to open by the end of 2020.
Premier Inn, Newquay
The chain is currently building a hotel and a restaurant on Narrowcliff in .
The site was previously used as a car park since the former St Brannocks and Tolcarne hotels were demolished in September 2008 to make way for a huge new five-storey development for 75 apartments which never materialised, despite some of the prospective new flats having been sold.
Premier Inn received planning permission for a four-storey building - which will include 83 hotel rooms, 41 guest parking spaces and a restaurant on the ground floor - in February 2018.

Premier Inn, Penzance
Penzance will also be getting a new Premier Inn next year.
The budget hotel chain was first given planning permission in the summer of 2017 with works starting in 2018 at the former Branwells Mill building.
The hotel and is expected to create 22 full-time jobs.
Premier Inn previously said that it will open early 2019.
La Péniche, Falmouth
La Péniche is a floating vintage café and bistro where every seat has a sea view.

Delta, Tony and Kate Elliott-Cannon's péniche – a French barge – arrived in Falmouth Bay in early 2019. She travelled from Chalon sur Soane near Burgundy to Poses in Normandy under her own steam; a total of 726.86km through 177 locks.
Initial mooring sites the couple investigated included Prince of Wales Pier and Church Street Car Park, but then they were made an offer by The Haven.
By day, La Péniche offers and Falmouth’s harbour and looking back across the water at Custom House and North Quay.

Bodmin Jail

The construction work on a £40 million redevelopment and preservation project is currently ongoing.
The site is currently closed but will reopen in May 1, 2020, when the new attraction will be completed.
The brand new £8.5million immersive visitor experience has been developed by international visitor attraction experts Sarner and sees the introduction of the new ‘Dark Walk’ experience and a complete re-design of the existing attraction spaces.
Four linked experiences will take guests on a journey through a depiction of life in the 18th and 19th century and provide them with entertaining and informative history of the region, the jail and its former inmates.
Ghostly voices from Cornwall’s murky past will appear alongside highway robbers, smugglers, miners and tales of the Bodmin Beast, using the latest technology and theatrical effects to allow visitors to experience the life and death within the prison walls and Cornwall as a whole.
The four-star boutique hotel, which is due to open in late 2020, is being built within the walls of the Grade II listed building, retaining original features including bars on the windows, original brickwork and the original guard tower.
It has been designed with a view to retain and enhance the unique atmosphere and sense of history that exists in the ruins of the jail.
The old cells are being used to create 70 spacious bedrooms with three cells to a room in the original civil, naval and women’s wings, alongside an exciting new restaurant concept.
Headland Hotel's £6m Aqua Club
Work on the new leisure complex started in September 2017 and is anticipated to be completed by spring next year.
Some 140 construction staff have so far worked on the project, which covers more than 2,000 square metres.
The new Aqua Club, under way on the site of the former tennis courts, will contain five pools, a sauna, sun terrace and a new restaurant named The Deck.
Exclusive to guests and gym and spa members, the three pools will include a 25-metre lap pool, a hydrotherapy pool and a children’s pool.
On the terrace there will be two further pools including a heated infinity pool and a “vitality” pool for guests to relax in.
Situated between the indoor and outdoor areas will be The Deck, a new café and restaurant where visitors can come to eat, to recharge after a session of swimming, or for evening dining.
Hall for Cornwall
The theatre in , which closed on June 2, 2018, is due to re-open with a new look in autumn 2020, 16 weeks after the new-look auditorium was originally supposed to be unveiled.
The (HFC) is being completely revamped to open up the auditorium with more seating, making it more in line with the Theatre Royal in Plymouth and other theatres in major cities as part of a £21.6m project.
There will be a 27% increase in capacity.
The entrance will be moved to the more attractive arched Boscawen Street side of the premises.
The massive plans will also see the building of a digital hub for creative and technological businesses, thanks to the European Regional Development Fund.
The HFC has already received major funding including almost £225,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund plus funding from Arts Council England and Cornwall Council.
However, money is still needed to complete the ambitious project - 93% of the £21.6 million target has been raised.
Geothermal pool, Penzance
Following a huge investment in Jubilee Pool over the past few years to repair the storm damage of 2014 and secure its future and one of its most successful seasons ever, the 海角视频's biggest seawater lido underwent the first drilling tests in 2018 to become the first facility of its kind to be heated using.
Work started in winter 2017/18 to drill the geothermal well, using a £1.4 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund, alongside additional private sector investment of £400,000.
The new geothermal technology was meant to see of 2019.
However it is now thought that this will happen in 2020.
Penzance Heliport
Work on a new £4.3m heliport at Penzance began earlier this year.

The new heliport on Jelbert Way is adjacent to the previous heliport site and will reinstate direct helicopter flights between Penzance and the islands of Tresco and St Mary’s.
A previous helicopter service linking Penzance and the Scillies lasted for 47 years before helicopters flew from Lands’ End for a year.
The company is now set to receive its aircraft in the early part of 2020 and the first commercial flights will be on March 17, 2020.
The Pig Hotel
The Pig Hotel brand, owned by Home Grown Hotels Ltd, hopes to convert 15th century Harlyn House into one of its signature hotels, known for its laid back glamour and good food centred around a kitchen garden.
It will require change of use consents to become The Pig at Harlyn Bay, but if approved, should be open in time for summer 2019.”
Headed by hotel entrepreneur Robin Hutson with interiors designed by his wife Judy, the Pig brand has also found success with the Pig on the Beach in Studland, Dorset and in Devon.
Trevithick Manor retail park
The first phase of the major retail park at opposite in was scheduled to open sometime this year.
Cheshire-based developer Consolidated Property Group (CPG) was given the go ahead in 2016 to build eight retail units, a food store, two drive-through fast-food restaurants, a pub and a 40-bed hotel.
The plans have been modified to include five retail units, two drive-through fast-food restaurants, a pub and a 40-bed hotel.
Eight big name retailers had been confirmed as principal occupiers of the park, German supermarket giant , Costa Coffee, Pets at Home, B&M, , Iceland and , while Marston’s was earmarked to take on the pub restaurant and hotel.
The scheme will create 350 for the area, with a further 150 during construction.
The works have not started yet but it is hoped that the first phase will open in 2020.
Holiday Inn, Cornwall Services
A new hotel and restaurant is being built next to Cornwall Services.
The Holiday In Express, located just of the A30 at Victoria, has 71 bedrooms, and dining facilities.
The company says the hotel, which also houses a meeting room, .
The Express Café & Bar will serve light meals, local beers and selected wines throughout the day. This particular Holiday Inn Express will also be serving a full evening dining menu.
Children (under 18) travelling with parents will stay at the hotel for free in family rooms and there will be free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
The site has free parking for hotel guests and access to electric vehicle-charging.

Budget hotel brand Travelodge has announced plans to .
Travelodge currently operates seven hotels in Cornwall and plans to double its portfolio with a £45million investment creating 175 jobs.
Planned locations include a second hotel in and the company’s first hotels in , , , , and .
