The owners of a historic former bank in Sale have lodged an application to restore its upper floors to their original splendour.
The renovation plans for the first and second floors of the Grade II-listed building, previously occupied by Lloyds Bank on the junction of School Road and Tatton Road, have been submitted to Trafford council's planning portal.
The building, which dates back to 1902, was most recently used as a law firm's office and the ground floor is currently occupied by a Gail's Bakery outlet, which opened in November. The property is owned by TIC Group Ltd, a family-run property company based in Sale that manages residential and commercial properties across Greater Manchester, reports .
Two of its directors are Thomas and Max Sillito. Thomas said: "Our aim is to preserve everything that's there. We want to restore the original, historic features to create serviced offices. We want to make it modern meets old. "
Max added: "We want to return it to its original glory. It's fascinating when you see the layout of the offices as they are, because it's very much as it was when it was Lloyds Bank. And you can tell which office was the bank manager's, because it's biggest."
"There's a lot of wood panelling that's been painted over, and we want to bring it back to how it was."
