Hillary Clinton praises Liverpool firm at British LGBT Awards

Ex-presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton took time out to praise a Liverpool firm while accepting a top accolade at a star-studded LGBT awards event.

The former First Lady and US Secretary of State paid thanks to PR firm ThisGeneration and its team during a public speech at the British LGBT Awards held in London on August 27.

Appearing at Britain's biggest LGBT+ awards event via video link from the US, former Senator Clinton said she could "not be prouder to stand with the LGBT+ community" - but that there is more "work to be done to change laws and change hearts and minds" until LGBT+ people secure full equality.

She was accepting a 'Global Ally' award at the ceremony when she name-checked Daniel Hughes and Connor Dunn for their part in putting on a "hugely successful" event, attended by the likes of musicians Alesha Dixon and Anne-Marie as well as the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson - plus Merseyside duo Conor Coady and Melanie C.

ThisGeneration's boss Dan Hughes said: “I am incredibly proud of our achievements this summer.

"Ms Clinton paying thanks to ThisGeneration is true testament to my team’s hard work and is very well deserved, but this is only the beginning.
