Entries have opened for the annual ProCon Leicestershire Property and Construction Awards, with the winners revealed at an awards night in November.

The call for entries has now gone out for the extended 2020-2021 search for the best new buildings, after the November 2020 ceremony was cancelled due the pandemic.

ProCon Leicestershire is now on track to celebrate its eighteenth annual awards on November 11, 2021.

The organisers will welcome 620 people to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium to discover the best new local building projects – assuming new pandemic restrictions don’t affect public gatherings.

ProCon chair Umesh Desai said: “With the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s vaccination drive going so well and larger gatherings set to be permitted from late June, we’re as confident as we can be that the ProCon Awards will happen as planned.”

In a sign of widespread confidence in the awards, the existing sponsors continue to back the event and ticket holders who bagged their seats in March 2020 are holding onto their coveted places at the ceremony.

The ProCon Awards are backed by three corporate sponsors – Salus Approved Inspectors; Unique Window Systems; and Vistry Partnerships. The Leicester Mercury is the awards’ media partner.

Mr Desai, who is director of estates and facilities at De Montfort University, said: “Our huge thanks go to our corporate and award sponsors for being so supportive and also to our ticket holders for keeping faith that the ceremony will happen in 2021.
