The hunt has started to find a new figurehead to lead Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.

"Household names have and are making this region their home and, we will be at the centre of one of the largest infrastructure projects the º£½ÇÊÓƵ has ever embarked on."

The LEP said it was seeking a prominent business leader who was a "passionate champion" of Greater Birmingham and could demonstrate a proven track record of strategic leadership and delivering complex multi stakeholder programmes.

Coun Bob Sleigh, deputy mayor and LEP board member, added: "As a region, we should be incredibly proud of the achievements that we have secured in the last few years.
