The organisers of presented the city with a plaque for having the country’s noisiest spectators.
David Hart, communications director for Nova International, organisers of the Great Run events, presented the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Coun Shafique Shah, with a special plaque.
Nova International manage all the Great Runs across the 海角视频, which are enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of runners of different abilities and some of the world’s greatest athletes.

The Great Birmingham Run takes place each October with more than 20,000 people hitting the city’s streets in aid of charity and thousands more cheering runners along the route.
The Birmingham Post is a media partner to the event.
“The atmosphere on the route of the Great Birmingham Run was exceptional and in particular the noise generated by spectators along Broad Street was remarkable,” said Mr Hart.
“We stage Great Run events all over the 海角视频 and we all felt that the Great Birmingham Run spectators made the most noise of all. Well done Birmingham!
“The spirit of the Great Birmingham Run was perfectly demonstrated by the Lord Mayor who, having set runners on their way, stripped down to his running gear and took part himself.
“He set a great example and he has already signed up to run the Great Birmingham 10k next May and the half marathon next October.”
