Organisers of are predicting it will be the biggest ever in the half marathon’s seven-year history.
A total of 17,000 runners have already signed up for the 13.1 mile run on October 19, including a record number of entries for both the and Junior and Mini races.
Organisers hope to beat the record 20,000 runners who took part in the 2013 run, which reached capacity a week before the event.
David Hart, communications director for the run, said: “There is still time to join in the fun, but following the success of the Bupa Great North Run we have seen a noticeable surge in entry levels over the last few days.”
The Bupa Great Birmingham Run is the second biggest half marathon in the Ƶ.
