The General Election exit poll has shown a massive majority for the Tories - the biggest Conservative majority since Margaret Thatcher’s reign.

The earliest indications, released to broadcasters as polls closed at 10pm, suggests the Tories will win 368 seats, with Labour way down on 191.

If the poll is correct, it means the Tories will have a majority of 86.

Based on the views of 20,000 people at 144 polling stations, the exit poll is the first indication about the result of the General Election, and in the past has brought out accurate outcomes.

They are based on voters interviewed as they come out of polling stations.

These are the full results of the exit poll:

Conservatives 368 (+50)

Labour 191 (-71)
