General Election 2015: Bookies tip Roger Godsiff to hold on to Hall Green

Hall Green was secured for Labour when Tony Blair came to power almost 18 years ago and the bookies are predicting no chance this time around

 

Hall Green was secured by when Tony Blair came to power in 1997 and has remained red ever since – and is set to remain that way in the next term according to bookies.

Incumbent Roger Godsiff saw his majority reduce significantly last time round but still had almost 4,000 over the next contender.

The are putting up James Bird against him, a former city councillor and seen as a bright young thing. However, he is a 100/1 outsider.

The ’ Jerry Evans are considered the strongest rivals to Mr Godsiff, at 12/1, while Ladbrokes put Respect at 16/1 and º£½ÇÊÓÆµIP at 66/1. Elly Stanton is standing for the .

Last time round, Salma Yaqoob from Respect was the closest challenger, securing 12,240 votes, compared to Mr Godsiff’s 16,039.
