The have targeted Birmingham Northfield as a winnable seat in the next 鈥 but the bookies don鈥檛 agree.

Northfield is one of the Tories鈥 40 target seats but candidate Rachel Maclean is considered a 12/1 chance of ousting incumbent MP Richard Burden in 2015.

Ms Maclean, who previously headed up Skills for Birmingham, has become a recognisable face as an opponent of Labour鈥檚 鈥済arden tax鈥 in the city.

But Mr Burden has held the seat since 1992, securing more than 40 per cent of the vote last time, and is 33/1 on with Ladbrokes to repeat the feat.
