The sale is hoped to facilitate the owner's early retirement

A firm behind incredible life-sized metal sculptures of exotic animals that have been seen right across the North West is up for sale.

Lancashire-based Pangea sells handmade sculptures made in Africa of animals including giraffes, elephants, crocodiles and hippos, and which turned over around £320,000 in the 2019 financial year.

Established in 2014, the firm's headquarters are in Ormskirk, with the sale hoped to "facilitate the early retirement" of its owner, Ian Unsworth.

The company has over 2,400 clients in its database such as zoos, local authorities and retail outlets, and were notably used to promote an arts fair at the Liver Building back in 2015.

The sale listing is with Bolton firm Knightsbridge Business Sales, and says: "Pangea Sculptures offers a bespoke range of handmade sculptures, all of which are beautifully crafted in Africa using recycled materials before being refined in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

"Utilising a reliable team of Sculptors in Kenya and Zimbabwe, the business has gone from strength to strength, boasting an excellent industry reputation and a loyal client base.

"A wide variety of sculptures are available, with something to suit every taste."

The firm was launched in 2014 after Mr Unsworth’s trip to Kenya, where three sculptors were employed and the first order was placed.
