The final night at the old Snobs nightclub is little more than a month away – but bosses are promising to recreate its unique atmosphere at its new home.
The Post can reveal the final night at the current home of will take place on Sunday, September 21.
The club is , the former Vudu Lounge, in Smallbrook Queensway, in a £2 million relocation after more than 40 years of loud music proved too much of a problem for its ageing Paradise Circus home.
The first night at the new Snobs, which will hold up to 1,400 people, will be September 24.
The move has been the in the past year, with Snobs holding a of people from Birmingham.
Snobs DJ and promoter David Southam said the date was ideal, as it coincides with a new intake of students at the city’s universities.
He said opting for a Sunday meant they could stretch the goodbye across the weekend.
“We were a bit concerned that if we had the final night on a Saturday that too many people would want to come,” he said.

Mr Southam said they considered guest DJs for the final nights at Paradise Circus but decided to stick to the trusted formula.
He added: “We have managed to time it as we wanted, as we reopen when the new students come for freshers’ week. We are sure that is the best time and they are going to have a great time at the new Snobs.”
Snobs will begin selling tickets for the final night from August 24.
An estimated 2.5 million people passed through the doors of the Paradise Circus venue over the years but Mr Southam said he was confident the new club would be as popular.
In bid to recreate the unique atmosphere, some of the old club will make a return including a sunken dancefloor and some of the ‘Dr Who’ styling.
Mr Southam added: “It is going to be a nice venue. There is quite a lot to be excited about in terms of the new place and how you can make the venue work.
“A lot of clubs have big rooms, with space for 1,500 people, but this has four rooms and we can open any combination of them, so it can cater from 300 to 1,400 and between.

“Hopefully, it will always feel like there is an atmosphere. We are trying to do as much as we can to remind people of the old Snobs.”
The move comes amid £16 million plans for a at the original Snobs base, known as the Beneficial Building, which was the first pre-cast concrete construction in Birmingham.
Gethar Ventures, the firm behind the work at Beneficial, has also developed the new club.

“I haven’t met anyone in the city who hasn’t got a story to tell about Snobs.
“A serious amount of money has been invested to make sure that the new club reflects the same atmosphere that everyone has come to love.”
