Fiddle & Bone in Birmingham makes long-awaited return

One of the most popular bars for live music fans opens again this weekend after a 10-year wait

A historic canalside pub which was once a favourite among live music fans in Birmingham is making a return.

The , behind the Grade II* listed Roundhouse, makes a return this weekend.

The landmark venue in Sheepcote Street has had a £650,000 revamp to breathe new life into the building near and the (formerly the NIA).

The pub was once a thriving jazz venue but has laid empty for more than a decade after complaints about noise levels from residents of newly built nearby flats saw it controversially shut down.

Now, the canal boaters who run nearby Sherborne Wharf are reviving the venue reopening this weekend as a 300-capacity pub with bistro food and real ales from Midlands brewery Purity.

The pub has views over the water and will be popular with drinkers in through the summer months with outdoor benches beside the neighbouring historic Roundhouse.

The pub opens its doors at 1pm on Sunday and music will come from the Mumbo-Jumbos, previously featured by BBC Introducing.
