A company known for supplying digital screens to some of the biggest English football clubs and sporting venues has received approval for expanding its headquarters.

ADI TV, based in Fulwood in Preston, is a specialist in giant LED displays for sports and live entertainment events.

The firm boasts installations at more than half of the stadiums in the Premier League and Championship, as well as at iconic venues like Silverstone for the British Grand Prix and Aintree Racecourse for the Grand National.

Established in 1991, ADI TV has equipped more than 60 sporting venues with its large-screen technology and is also responsible for numerous electronic advertising boards that encircle stadium perimeters.

From its Preston hub, ADI TV also orchestrates the creation and broadcast of custom content for event-goers, producing over 400 matchday shows from 14 studio galleries annually, and its screens are a common sight in major shopping centres.

Last year, the company set in motion plans to revamp its Pittman Court site within Broughton Business Park, aiming to expand its 150-strong team of specialists and attract top talent.

The company acknowledged the need to meet "the increasing challenge of attracting young, dynamic professionals".

Preston City Council's planning committee initially approved the proposal, and now a slightly scaled-back version of the project has also received approval from the council's planning officers.

The company is poised to construct three extensions – one of which will allow the establishment of a staff restaurant – aiming to optimise the utilisation of the existing floorspace.

City council planners have determined that the proposed extension aligns with the authority's strategy of concentrating employment growth on "well-located", pre-developed land parcels.

Furthermore, they acknowledged that the plan includes enlarging the car park to "address the existing shortage".
