Ernst & Young rebranded as EY - and Mark Weinberger appointed CEO

New chairman and chief executive says changes reflect firm's ambition to be number one

Ernst & Young has been renamed as EY

Worldwide business advisory firm Ernst and Young has a new name and logo  - and will now be known as EY.

The Big Four accountancy company, which has a major office in Birmingham, unveiled the new name, logo and branding as well as announcing that Mark Weinberger had been appointed global chairman and CEO.

The new logo carries the statement "Building a better working world".

Mr Weinberger said: "Shortening our name will provide consistency and ease of use for EY practices and clients around the world.

"We have also redesigned our logo, reflecting our new brand name clearly in the design.

"Our new brand name and logo demonstrate clearly and boldly who we are and reflect the goal we have recently set ourselves to be the number one brand in our profession."
