They include new train stations, ferries, bus improvements and cycle routes

These eight updates will be of interest to all Liverpool City Region commuters

Liverpool has certainly had its fair share of transport news in recent days.

That's included announcements about funding for new ferries alongside exciting updates on train station re-openings and bus improvements.

Much of it is thanks to a £172.5m fund committed by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and approved at a meeting on Friday.

1. Good news as two new Merseyrail stations to help connect town with no rail links

Two new stations to the Merseyrail network have been approved, .

Agreed at a combined authority meeting last week, stations will be built at Kirkby's Headbolt Lane and another in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle.
