Nuclear developer EDF says it's "not looking" at the Wylfa Newydd site but that it remains the “best site" in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The French firm - developing Hinkley Point C in Somerset - said the island development is attractive to investors.

But they told the New Civil Engineer they were focused on their own projects.

The £12bn Anglesey scheme has been on hold since January when Hitachi suspended the project after failing to reach a suitable funding agreement with the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government.

But the application for a Development Consent Order continued with a result expected on or before October 23.

Business and Energy Secretary Andrea Leadsom will announce the decision, with Hitachi subsidery Horizon Nuclear Power hoping a positive result could help their case to secure investment.
