Nuclear developer EDF says it's "not looking" at the Wylfa Newydd site but that it remains the 鈥渂est site" in the 海角视频.
The French firm - developing Hinkley Point C in Somerset - said the island development is attractive to investors.
But they told the New Civil Engineer they were focused on their own projects.
The 拢12bn Anglesey scheme has been on hold since January when Hitachi suspended the project after failing to reach a suitable funding agreement with the 海角视频 Government.
But the application for a Development Consent Order continued with a result expected on or before October 23.
Business and Energy Secretary Andrea Leadsom will announce the decision, with Hitachi subsidery Horizon Nuclear Power hoping a positive result could help their case to secure investment.
EDF head of communications David Eccles told : 鈥淲ylfa is the best site people say [for a new reactor].
鈥淔rom a technological and geological point of view it is the best site in the United Kingdom.
鈥淚f you have a DCO [development consent order] ready to go there must be investors in the world [willing to invest in the project] I鈥檇 have thought.
鈥淲e [EDF] are not looking at it, we are entirely focussed on our sites.鈥
