Eastern Airways will continue to operate Wales airlink between Cardiff and Anglesey as Flybe collapses

Eastern Airways fly the Anglesey to Cardiff airlink

The collapse of airline Flybe will not hit flights between Anglesey to Cardiff according to the company's franchise partner.

Flybe went into administration overnight, putting 2,000 jobs at risk, after a bid for fresh financial support failed.

The airline ran the booking service on the Wales airlink.

But Eastern Airways actually operates the service and this morning stated that flights would continue to operate as normal between the airports in Cardiff and RAF Valley.

The 7.35am service from Cardiff to the island took off as normal this morning.

The booking service has currently been switched to a phone only operation but a new booking system is expected to be up and running in the next few days.

A spokesman said: "Eastern Airways flights will continue to operate as normal and we advise passengers to arrive at their airports as usual today."

They said they will honour any tickets on Flybe services operated by Eastern Airways for travel today, Friday or Sunday.
