East End Foods’ gala charity dinner was organised by , director of and chairman of . It was held at Vox , in support of the .

Around 500 people attended the event and were welcomed by , of Heart FM.

Dr Wouhra talked about the inspiration behind the gala. His auntie Ravinder, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012, had asked Jason to organise the event to give something back to Macmillan, the charity that supported her and helped her overcome the obstacles that cancer brought.

There was an emotional speech by Jason’s auntie, Ravinder, who talked about her battle with cancer and this was followed by former student Anthony Mayer who spoke about his cancer diagnosis.

Both Anthony and Ravinder praised the work done by Macmillan and the support they received.

Jason went on to thank all the people who had helped him with the event and all the key sponsors of the night. He also said that he looked forward to the day that Macmillan would not have to exist, with the eradication of cancer.

Bobby Davro hosted the rest of the night. There was entertainment from 14-year-old Connie Talbot, who sang some classic songs, followed by the British-Armenian comedian and pianist Kev​ ​Orkain, who had the audience giggling away.

Indi and his 30-piece band, known as Indi and the Unconventional Crooners, and songs that had everybody up on their feet.

Other entertainment included a casino provided by Broadway Casinos, a spa for massages, snacks including hot dogs, ice creams, candy floss and popcorn and fairground .
