Drayton Manor Park co-founder Vera Bryan has passed away at the age of 96 鈥 less than a month after the death of .
Mrs Bryan died peacefully at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, 64 years to the day that she first visited the then rundown site near Tamworth.
Her passing follows the death on September 20 of her husband of 71 years, George.
The couple bought the derelict Peel Estate for 拢12,000 in October 1949, complete with brambles, mounds of rubbish, old army huts and pastureland.
The Bryans became nationally-renowned figures in the 海角视频 tourism industry as they successfully transformed 80 acres of wasteland into one of the country鈥檚 most popular family attractions.
A statement issued by the Staffordshire theme park said: 鈥淒rayton Manor Theme Park regrets to announce that the park鈥檚 co-founder, Mrs Vera Bryan, passed away peacefully this morning (Wednesday 16th October) at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield.
鈥淢rs Bryan, 96, dedicated her life to Drayton Manor and her family. Her passion helped bring joy and laughter to millions of families from the 海角视频 and abroad."
