Dragons' Den backing for Kokoso Baby

Husband and wife team secure £50,000 investment from Touker Suleyman to help grow their skincare business

A husband and wife team have secured £50,000 of new investment into their baby care business on BBC show Dragons' Den.

Touker Suleyman backed Kokoso Baby, which is run by Warwickshire-based Mark and Lauren Taylor and makes natural baby skincare products, in exchange for a 30 per cent stake.

The couple started the company in 2014 after discovering the benefits of raw virgin organic coconut oil on their baby's dry and sensitive skin.

Their success in the Den mirrors that who earlier this month secured £70,000 to grow their range of pork crackling snacks.

Mr Taylor said: "It was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences and we're still kicking ourselves about things we didn't mention.

"But, despite that, we were thrilled to leave the Den triumphant and can't wait to grow the business with some Touker Time to help us.

"We hope to share the wonders of our amazing coconut oil skincare range with many more parents and their little ones."

Shortly after the firm launched, Kokoso Baby secured a deal with Boots after entering the pharmacy chain's Inspired by Baby competition for parents with business ideas inspired by life with their little ones.
