Double celebration for bridal business at Birmingham Chamber awards

Isaac Charles Bridal House leads the way with two awards at last night's annual ceremony which recognised the top performers among chamber's membership

Network Rail's work on the redevelopment of New Street station was among the winners at last night's chamber awards

A fledging wedding shop business has struck double at an annual award ceremony just a year after launching.

Isaac Charles Bridal House, based in Burlington Court close to New Street station, took home two gongs from last night's 2015 awards as it targets a £500,000 turnover by 2017.

The business was recognised for its excellence in the customer service and social media categories.

Manager Ruth Rawson said: "Twelve months ago we embarked on an ambitious five-year business development plan to achieve our goal of becoming number one for bridal in the Midlands and beyond.

"We have reached, and in many cases exceeded, each and every target we had set ourselves to achieve in the first year."

Since launching, the business has grown to seven staff and relocated from Great Barr to the city centre base.

Judging panel chairman Russell Jeans said: "Isaac Charles is a highly deserved winner of these awards. They demonstrated tremendous determination to follow through their business plan to achieve their goals.

"They also established a robust relationship with their suppliers which has resulted in their customers get first sight of new designs.
