Dorset housebuilder AJC Group has finished building its latest development, providing 27 new homes.

The Poole-based company started work on the Comerwicke Fields project in Okeford Fitzpaine in 2021, before completing on schedule last month.

Located on Castle Lane in the village - which is three miles south of Sturminster Newton - the 2.84-acre greenfield site has a mix of two to four-bedroom semi-detached, mid terrace and end terrace houses.

All of the properties at the scheme, which AJC built for Aster Group, are classified as affordable housing, with eight homes for social rent and 19 available through shared ownership.

AJC bosses said the company was looking to 500 affordable homes by 2028. Director David Cracklen, added: “It’s been great to work with Aster Group and we look forward to completing our second collaborative development in Dorset with the same team before the end of 2024.

"We currently have 57 homes under construction at the newly regenerated Dorchester Brewery complex, which will also be 100% affordable.”

Members of Dorset Council and the local Parish Council attended an event at the site to welcome for the site’s new residents.
