The Lib Dem group has tabled the motion and will call on other parties to support it at the council鈥檚 monthly meeting on July 12.
The motion also deplores the use of 鈥渄og whistle slogans such as 鈥楾ake our country back鈥,鈥 which they say has 鈥渟tirred up racism and legitimised an upsurge in racist assaults鈥.

Their call echoes that of Birmingham鈥檚 Labour leader John Clancy who argues that the needs of big cities should be taken account of in the Brexit negotiations with the EU.
He also asked for the Government to continue supporting Britain鈥檚 membership of the European Research Area - to continue support for world-class research at our universities.
Cllr Clancy said: 鈥淣ow is the time to invest in our cities and the leave campaign made it clear that there would be net gains if we voted to leave the EU, so it is only reasonable for any post-Brexit government to replace funding that might otherwise have come to cities like Birmingham via Europe.
鈥淚n return we will create the growth. We will invest in jobs and skills and we will build much needed homes. We will ensure that the benefits of ongoing investment are felt in every community across Birmingham鈥檚 40 wards.鈥
