A º£½ÇÊÓƵ health and fitness chain is opening its 100th branch in Bristol next month following an £11million investment.

David Lloyd is opening in Emersons Green and will employ 80 staff on the site - taking the company’s employee count in the city to 260.

The new centre is the third in Bristol and will span 2.3 hectares.

Jack Phillips, general manager for David Lloyd in Bristol, said: “The forthcoming opening of our Emersons Green club is a real milestone for David Lloyd.

“To employ 260 individuals across one city is further testament to David Lloyd’s commitment to supporting Bristol’s economy and keeping everyone active.

“We have been working hard these last few months to recruit the very best talent from the local community to ensure that our members have a top notch experience when using the latest health, fitness and spa facilities at our Emersons Green club.”

David Lloyd has hired personal trainers, health and fitness coaches, gym instructors, lifeguards, tennis and swimming coaches, and children’s supervisors at the new club.

There will also be receptionists, sales consultants and management staff, as well as self-employed group exercise instructors who will deliver holistic, dance and cycle classes.
