Coronavirus: Firms and individuals from across the North West come together to help those in need

There has been quite a reaction from the business community

Individuals and businesses from across the North West have come together to help those suffering from the outbreak of coronavirus. 

The deadly Covid-19 has forced people across the region to make drastic changes to their lives - to introduce social distancing and working from home where possible, among other restrictions. 

Despite many firms suffering from the way the disease has changed life in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and jobs already having been lost, there has been quite a reaction from the business community. 

From offering free food to NHS workers to shopping for the vulnerable to offering delivery services from shops or restaurants, to all sorts of business initiatives, there is no shortage of firms that have gone out of their way to provide a helping hand.

Together with , here we round up some of the offers of help and initiatives being run by firms and individuals from across our region.

Food and provisions

Mowgli founder Nisha Katona offered free food to any NHS workers who ate in Mowgli on Wednesday before the restaurant closed.

Nisha said: “Any NHS workers dining in Mowgli will receive food for free. It is our way of clapping you from our balconies, our dear heroes. We thank you for all you do and all you will do over the next months.”

The Bootle Arms has made up a series of bags filled with essentials and luxuries, such as loo roll and soap in an attempt to help people in the community who are isolated.
