A new £2.5m digital academy has been launched in Liverpool with the aim of bridging the city's digital skills gap.
The City of Liverpool College has launched the new facility, which will be an arm specialising in digital courses in response to the demand for skills in the sector.
Based in the Knowledge Quarter, the academy will provide industry-led courses, designed in collaboration with employers, to provide budding digital experts with real world experience, helping them to excel in their careers.

According to the college, the academy will be differentiated from the college due to its "bold and striking branding", giving it an identity that reflects the expertise and facilities - including an on-site motion capture suite and the latest specialist technology, designed in partnership with industry experts.
Steph Doyle, head of the digital academy, said: “As our world becomes increasingly digitally-focused, digital skills are in demand more than ever, with employers consistently looking to improve their workforce’s knowledge.
