Charles Morgan has stepped down from the Morgan Motor Company, marking the end of his family’s century-old connection with the Malvern car-maker.
A statement from the firm confirmed Mr Morgan was no longer part of the management team or the board of directors at the carmaker’s parent company Morgan Technologies.
Mr Morgan was replaced by operations director Steve Morris as managing director of the company in March. At the time car-maker said Mr Morgan would still be “the face of Morgan internationally”, adding that he would continue to promote the brand and sell the company’s products worldwide.

It is currently unclear whether Mr Morgan will retain any involvement in the company, which has a line-up of eight models, ranging from the 3 Wheeler to the high-powered £127,000 Aero Supersports.
Mr Morgan is the grandson of company founder HFS Morgan, who began his cyclecar manufacturing business in 1910 and continued as managing director until 1959. He was succeeded by Charles Morgan’s father Peter, who ran the company until 2003.
Mr Morgan enjoyed a successful career as a television news cameraman before joining the family company in 1985. He became managing director in 2006.
Mr Morgan took to Twitter in the wake of the announcement saying: ”Sad strange day, thinking good thoughts about all the workforce at Pickersleigh Road.
He was also inundated with messages of support and replied by saying: “Thank you so much for all your support. I am completely humbled by all your kind messages.”
