A North West care group has hired 130 people and announced plans to open two new offices across the region.
Alcedo Care said it has experienced a "significant increase" in demand for home care services during April, May and June, meaning it has achieved record results over the last quarter.
The family-run business based in Southport, which provides care and services to local nursing and care homes, is forecasting to beat its predicted £10m turnover by the end of the calendar year, despite the global pandemic.
Andy Boardman, managing director at Alcedo Care, said: “From companionship to 24/7 complex care live-in support, the desire to keep loved ones safe and well in their own homes during lockdown increased significantly, and as a result, we recruited 130 new team members in April and May, achieving record financial results.
“With an ever-increasing aging population in the Ƶ, with 3.2m aged 80 and over and 1.6m aged 85 and over, many naturally require a degree of help at home. Our talented team provides exemplary home care, ensuring every client is treated with compassion and respect.
"The recent coronavirus pandemic has without doubt heightened the demand for high quality care for people in their own homes, and we are committed to delivering the necessary services across the North West, with further growth planned for this year, and future expansion plans in the pipeline for 2021.”
With the new hires, the group, which was established in March 2017, now employs 400 people.
