Residents and businesses are being encouraged to share their thoughts on the £4.2bn plans to rejuvenate Old Trafford, which includes a new 100,000 seater stadium for Manchester United.
A consultation is currently in progress to gather opinions on the proposal to establish a Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC), an initiative led by Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham.
The proposed Old Trafford Regeneration MDC aims to lead transformative regeneration, creating a world-class, sports-led visitor destination, as well as a vibrant culture and entertainment district, positioning the area as one of the top places in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ to live, work, and visit.
Under the leadership of chair designate, Olympian and businessman Lord Sebastian Coe, the initiative is expected to attract both public and private sector investment, laying the groundwork for approximately 15,000 new homes, including affordable housing, job opportunities and other enhancements.
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Trafford Council are keen to hear feedback and views on this new statutory body, its potential success in supporting development, growth and improvements, and whether the boundaries have been correctly defined.
Individuals who reside or work in the regeneration area are now receiving letters with a QR code, inviting them to participate in the consultation.
An online and paper questionnaire is now open for feedback, with further details and the consultation accessible at www.gmconsult.org. The deadline for responses is set for Wednesday, August 20.
Mr Burnham said: "This consultation marks the next step in our ambition to create a world-class destination within the Old Trafford Regeneration area - one that brings new homes, jobs, and infrastructure, and unlocks the area's full potential.
"The Old Trafford Regeneration area represents the biggest opportunity for urban regeneration this country has seen since London 2012. With our devolved powers, we're mobilising the whole Greater Manchester system to lock in growth for the next decade and deliver real benefits for communities across Trafford and the wider region."
Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council's executive member for economy and regeneration, expressed: "The more residents and businesses take part in the consultation, the better we can shape our plans to make sure the regeneration of Old Trafford benefits everyone and brings the growth and prosperity that people and places want and need."
