Welsh small businesses want the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government to work with the Welsh Government on a Shared Prosperity Fund for Wales.

According to the business group the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) firms also want to see a focus on negotiating an ambitious new trade deal with the EU, and building a flexible and fair immigration system.

The CBI Wales director, Ian Price, said that although the º£½ÇÊÓƵ has left the EU future prosperity remains connected.

Mr Price said: “No deal has been avoided and a year of status quo gives time to shape that new relationship.

“It’s time to focus on the future and build a new relationship with Europe. This can reflect our shared values and mutual interest, and sup =port bold global trade ambitions.”

Robert Lloyd Griffiths OBE, director of IoD Wales, agreed with Mr Price on the need to move forward.

“We’ve been in a period of limbo but as the months of uncertainty draw to a close we should unite to move forward together and focus on securing the best deal for the benefit of Wales and the º£½ÇÊÓƵ as a whole," he said.

"I’ve certainly been encouraged by the collaborative approach adopted by the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Welsh Governments; but our members will tell you that those warm words now need to be turned in to action for the benefit of our economy and future generations. Without doubt, we need to do what we do best and just get on with it. ”
