Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge: Full list of companies taking part

Every team that has entered 12 or more employees will receive their own personalised company engraved plaque

Matt Allen from Phoenix, Anna Clifford from Browne Jacobson Solicitors, Claire Hopkins from Edgbaston Cricket Ground and Russ Morris from Free Radio get in training for the Great Birmingham Run

More than 400 runners from companies across the Midlands have made this year’s Bupa Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge the biggest ever.

Thirty-seven teams have taken up the call to swap their desks for the pavements of Birmingham on Sunday, October 20, where they will be amongst a record number of almost 20,000 runners taking on the 13.1 mile course.

Paralympic champion swimmer Ellie Simmonds is this year’s honorary starter.

Businesses who have entered include Jaguar Land Rover, Deutsche Bank, Peugeot Motor Company, Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Browne Jacobson, Vax Ltd, Free Radio, Liquid and last year’s Business Challenge winners, The Phoenix Group.

There are prizes for the first three teams in each category of business – small, medium and large – with placings based on the accumulated first 4 finishing times in each team.

Every team that has entered 12 or more employees will also receive their own personalised company engraved plaque.

David Hart, communications director for the Bupa Great Birmingham Run, said: “It’s great  to see such a diverse range of businesses support the Midlands’ biggest ever half marathon.

“The Business Challenge is growing in popularity every year, and it’s a great way to generate team spirit in the workplace.”
