Bruntwood Works and Trafford Council have submitted plans for a new mixed-use development on the former Kellogg’s site in Stretford.

The joint venture, operating as Trafford Bruntwood, said it has put forward proposals comprising residential property, a primary school, commercial workspace, a hotel, a park and retail offerings.

It comes after Trafford Bruntwood revealed plans for the redevelopment in November 2019, which it then put to a public consultation.

A planning decision is expected to be made by spring 2020, Trafford Bruntwood said.

Coun Andrew Western, leader of Trafford Council, said: “These plans present a fantastic opportunity to provide much-needed housing, further develop local amenities, improve community use of the area and completely transform our public spaces.

“The plans aim to create a fantastic place for those who live and work here.”

The proposals form part of Trafford council’s ‘Civic Quarter Masterplan’ covering a 120-acre site, which includes the town hall, Lancashire Cricket Club and the former Kellogg’s site, already home to the University Academy 92 campus.

The partnership also said there is “potential” for a new public piazza and “processional route” from the cricket club to Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium to be built.
