Family property and construction firm Jehu Group has secured new projects worth £45m across South Wales.

The projects include independent living contracts with Cardiff City Council over two sites in Llanedeyrn and St Mellons, valued at more than £20m, as well as a 57 unit scheme for the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

A further scheme with long-standing partner Linc Cymru has also been secured to develop 48 apartments with funding support from the Welsh Government.

The firm won the contracts despite inflation impacting the construction industry. It now aims to recruit more delivery staff as a result, specifically site management, contract management and commercial staff to support the exisitng workforce.

Dafydd Cantwell, land and partnerships director, said Jehu have been working in close partnership with its clients to bring forward the developments.

Mr Cantwell said: “With three of the projects being specialist ‘later living’ accommodation, we continue to establish ourselves as a major player in the delivery of homes in this hugely undersupplied market.”

The construction firm, which has an annual turnover in excess of £70m, has completed eight ‘later living’ schemes in recent years, providing in excess of 450 homes.
