The public have voted for their favourite shops and staff in Birmingham city centre.
The Retail Birmingham Awards 2014, backed by the Birmingham Post, recognised retailers and individuals for excellence in customer service, team work, emerging talent and leading in industry standards.
All the winners received a surprise visit in-store from ITV This Morning presenter and fellow Brummie, Alison Hammond, to be presented with their trophy.
The winners:
Retail Team of the Year – Visual Merchandising Team at Selfridges
Retail Talent of the Year (under 25) - Jacob Young, The Liquor Store, Great Western Arcade
Retail Person of the Year – James Middleton, M&S, High Street
Outstanding Customer Service (Independent Retailer) – Loki Wine, Great Western Arcade

Outstanding Customer Service (Major Retailer) – House of Fraser, Corporation Street
More than 500 votes were received from the public and the top five winners were chosen by a panel of industry and media experts including Jonathan Cheetham chairman of Retail Birmingham; Shaun Hindle director of employment and skills, National Skills Academy; Stacey Barnfield editor of the Birmingham Post and assistant director of employment at Birmingham City Council, Shilpi Akbar.
Mr Cheetham said: “We had a terrific response from shoppers.
“It was a very difficult task to pick the winners as the standards were so high and we felt all of the nominated individuals from both large and small retailers were worthy of having their achievements recognised.”
